Biomass Grants for your Property

Grants for approved biomass boilers and wood pellet stoves are available from the Government's Low Carbon Buildings Programme. Funding levels are as follows...

Application Grant (whichever is lower)
Small domestic Maximum of £1,200 or 30% of eligible costs
Large community Maximum of £1 million or 35% of eligible costs

Grants can be higher in Northern Ireland or Scotland.

Grant funding is applicable only for approved boilers or stove technologies installed by an accredited contractor. Traditional log-burning stoves are not eligible for grants

If you run a business and wish to install biomass boiler equipment at your premises, you can get 100% tax relief for specific systems via the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme. ECAs are claimed in the business’s income tax or corporation tax return the same way as other capital allowances.
